Custom Kitchen Organizers: Identify the Installation
For a base cabinet basket, specify the usable cabinet opening and slide requirements. For a wall cabinet organizer, include mounting and movement clearance. These details help explain why you need a size, finish or mechanism change.
Product Customization for Cabinet Fit and Product Specifications
Product customization focuses on specific changes to a kitchen organizer: dimensions, material, finish, wire style, mechanism or included accessories. Start from a model or drawing and describe exactly what should change, so the revised configuration can be reviewed and quoted.

Define the Change from a Clear Starting Point
Send the original product link, model number, drawing or sample reference. Separate the features you want to retain from those you want to modify. For example, a cabinet project may require a dimensional change, while a product range may need a finish change; these are different review tasks.
If the project requires a new design direction rather than a defined modification, see ODM solutions. For manufacturing a buyer-defined design, see OEM manufacturing.
Your Customization Checklist
- Starting model or drawing, including the revision if available.
- Requested changes to dimensions, material, finish or wire style.
- Cabinet internal measurements, door layout and mounting details.
- Slide or movement requirements and the intended load and use.
- Required accessories and packaging.
- Quantity and destination.
Use dimensions with units and label the cabinet’s internal space separately from the product dimensions. Photographs help explain the layout but should not replace measurements.
Review Changes to the Complete Assembly
A wider basket may also affect slides, mounting positions or clearance. A mechanism change may affect available space and how the product is installed. Review the whole assembly instead of assuming that one component can be changed independently.
Material and finish choices should be confirmed for the selected configuration. State any relevant performance requirements so checks can be agreed; do not use a material name as a substitute for an agreed product specification.
Agree the Revised Version
- Review the requested changes: identify missing dimensions or installation details.
- Confirm the proposal: agree the configuration and quotation scope.
- Evaluate a sample: check fit, movement, finish and agreed requirements.
- Approve the reference: record the final drawing or sample revision before bulk production.
Branding Is a Separate Part of the Brief
If you also need a logo, labels or a retail box, include a separate branding and packaging brief. See private label manufacturing for those decisions so product changes and artwork can be approved together.
Customization Questions
Can every catalog model be changed in the same way?
Ask for a review of the specific model and requested change. Feasibility, quantity and timing should be confirmed for that configuration.
What should I check before approving a sample?
Check the revised dimensions, installation, movement, included components and appearance against the agreed change list.
